Hello! My name is Sean, and I am currently a junior at Virginia Military Institute studying Electrical and Computer Engineering (!a).

My long-term professional goals is to become an engineer, one that enjoys what they do! (#b). While my path is still developing, I know that I want to continue building technical skills while also growing as a leader. Ultimately, I want to reach a point in my career where I can kinda just say screw it and step away from work and live a quieter life, ideally somewhere in the mountains, where no one will ever find me (#b).

Outside of academics and career goals, I have a wide range of interests that reflect how much I enjoy building and creating things. I enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding, and fingerboarding, and I especially like designing and building my own fingerboard obstacles ($a). I also have a strong interest in custom keyboards. I have built several, which is probably excessive, but I enjoy the process of designing, modifying, and improving them. Right now, I am working on designing a keyboard from scratch. This includes designing a case, and a PCB, which I have never done before! ($a).

Another major interest of mine is working on cars, specifically my 1999 NB Miata. His name is FWOG because he is small and green. While the car is not in perfect condition and can be pain in my butt, I genuinely enjoy the process of fixing and improving it. Working on FWOG has taught me patience and real-world problem-solving, and it is something I take pride in ($a).

Looking toward the future, one of my personal life goals is to own a home with a garage large enough for a two-post lift so I can fully work on my car and other projects ($b). More broadly, I want to build a life where I can continue creating, learning! :D

In my day-to-day life, I want to be known as someone who is down to earth, reliable, and easy to talk to (%). I believe that leadership is not just about authority, but about being approachable and someone others can trust and rely on

The image I chose represents leadership as navigating through difficulty, much like dodging obstacles or “swords” being thrown your way (^). Leadership is rarely easy, and it often feels like you are constantly reacting to new challenges. In my own life, I have experienced this through responsibility within my family, particularly as a role model for my younger brothers. These experiences have forced me to adapt, persevere, and continue moving forward even when things are difficult. Just like in the image, leadership is not about avoiding challenges, but about learning how to handle them and grow stronger because of them (^).
